My Teachers Were Right
Posted on November 4, 2008, under Blog.
They always said, “Today is the first day of the rest of your life”. This can not be more true than for our new president elect Barack Obama and for America. For months we were torn apart by the elections and our candidates. Torn apart by falsehoods and divisive statements. I’m so glad that it’s finally over.
After Grant Park gets cleaned up after tonight’s celebration it will be time to clean up America. It will be hard to reach across the aisle with the elections freshly behind us, but I am sure in time I’m sure our leaders will do the right thing.
I’ll be looking to our new president for leadership, innovation, and inspiration. Why? Because today is the first day for the rest our lives. God Bless America and congratulations to our new president elect Barack Obama!

Hey Meleah, I’m definitely psyched about it too. I thought I’d stop listening to the news now that the elections are over, but I’m just hooked!
